Detailed Design
As being the second airport of Istanbul located in Anatolian side of the Istanbul, SFMM delivered the terminal building schematic design and detailed design stages. At the time designed, the international terminal building is equipped to handle 3 million passengers per year.
With the additional buildings, airport complex now serves more than 35 million passengers per year. The whole airport complex was designed and built in 18 months. The three main passenger halls (two departures, one arrival) are spanned by 68 meter steel trusses.
